USA’s Education System:
United States is the most desired study abroad destination in the world. Students from all around the world aspire to get recruited in one of the top universities of the world.
American public education is operated by state and local governments, regulated by the United States Department of Education through restrictions on federal grants. In most states, children are required to attend school from the age of six or seven (generally, kindergarten or first grade) until they turn 18 (generally bringing them through twelfth grade, the end of high school); some states allow students to leave school at 16 or 17.More importantly, students can move between one institution and another with relative ease. It is common to complete the first two years of a degree at one institution, usually a community college and then transfer to another to complete the degree.
The system comprises of 12 years of primary and high school education, which is mandatory for getting admission in any graduate college, university, or for any professional and technical schools.
Basically, their education system runs on a credit hour basis, where students need to attend minimum pre-requisite credit hours to successfully complete their bachelors/master’s degree.
In undergraduate level, you can earn either a two-year associate degree or a four-year bachelor’s degree. A bachelor’s degree will be awarded by a university, whereas an associate degree may be earned either at a community college or university.
Graduate degrees, often known as master’s degrees, require at least two years at a university. A Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) is the standard business graduate degree. Doctorates (PhDs) usually take four years to complete, and are research-based.
